In August 2022, PROTEO INTERNATIONAL S.r.l. returned to the Dominican Republic to provide technical and commercial support to its importer, local retailers, and farmers across different regions of the Country.

This week-long program began in Nagua, where sessions with rice producers and regional distributors were used to introduce new foliar nutrition solutions.

In El Pozo, a foliar nutrition protocol for rice was presented during field walks.

Subsequent visits in La Vega engaged vegetable growers of pepper, eggplant, and papaya, as well as major agro-exporters and commercial partners, to address market dynamics and rising general input costs.

In Santa Cruz de Mao, the team demonstrated foliar nutrition techniques to support stress resilience in organic banana production and conducted targeted support visits to pineapple plantations facing abiotic challenges.

Finally, in the area including Constanza, Banì, and Azua de Compostela, a foliar nutrition program for onions was proposed to producers and advisors, coordinating with seed specialists to match appropriate varieties.

These activities reinforced on-farm adoption of advanced foliar nutrition strategies and strengthened PROTEO’s technical presence across key agricultural zones.
